Marina Cay and Leverick Bay : Day 10

By day 10 on our island trip, we all had a good amount of laundry that needed to be done. Luckily Marina cay (only 8 acres and covered in flowers) has washers, dryers, and showers that you pay for by the load/minute. We were almost completely out of water so we filled up at the docking station as well. While our unmentionables were being washed, my sister and I decided to make the most of the day by sipping Pusser's Rum Painkillers (by far the best I found) while shopping at Pusser's Store for some nautical linen pants. We laid out in the sun and had a good "Painkiller nap" around lunch at Pusser's Restaurant before we set off for Leverick Bay.

We had one thing in mind for our evening in Leverick Bay : Anegada lobster at the Restaurant at Leverick Bay. It was decided that Anegada was a bit too far of a sail for this trip (about 4 hours over choppy seas) so we had to have a small taste of the island. The lobster was arguably the best lobster I've had a noticeably different than the Maine lobsters I am used to in the States. Not one thing on the menu was a disappointment and the wine menu was equally enjoyed. The evening was finished out at Cove and Jumbie's Bar - a playful pirate themed outdoor bar right on the beach.

Pusser's Painkiller Recipe:

  • 2 oz Pusser's Rum
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz cream of coconut
  • grated nutmeg
  • served on the rocks
